Why Telegram is different
Every other platform here connects through one Autoposter app. Telegram works the other way round: you create your own bot, and that bot posts to your channel. It takes a few more minutes to set up, and it is worth understanding why.
Telegram allows adult content, but only in private or invite-only channels. If one shared bot were used by everyone and it got banned, every customer would lose Telegram at once. With your own bot, your channel stands on its own.
What you need
- A Telegram account
- A channel you are an admin of. For adult content this must be private or invite-only.
Step 1 — Create your bot
- Open Telegram and search for @BotFather. It is the official bot for making bots.
- Send it /newbot.
- Give your bot a name and a username. The username has to end in bot.
- BotFather replies with a token — a long line that looks like 123456789:AAHdqTcvCH1vGWJx…. Copy the whole thing.
Treat that token like a password. Anyone who has it can post to your channel. If you ever paste it somewhere by accident, send BotFather /revoke and it becomes useless.
Step 2 — Add the bot to your channel
- Open your channel in Telegram.
- Go to Manage Channel → Administrators → Add Administrator.
- Search for your bot by its username and add it.
- Make sure Post Messages is switched on.
Adding the bot as a normal subscriber is not enough — it has to be an administrator, or it cannot post.
Step 3 — Connect it in Autoposter
- Go to Accounts and choose Telegram.
- Paste your bot token. We check it and show you which bot it belongs to — confirm it is the right one.
- Click Find my channel, then pick your channel and connect.
If your channel does not appear
Telegram only tells the bot about your channel when something happens in it, and it forgets after about a day. So if you added the bot yesterday and are connecting today, there is nothing left for us to find. Two ways round it:
- Post any message in the channel — even just “test” — then click Find my channel again.
- If your channel is public, type its @username in the box underneath instead. That works no matter how long ago you added the bot.
Private channels have no @username, so they always use Find my channel. If it still finds nothing, check that the bot in your channel is the same one the token belongs to — easy to mix up if you made more than one.
Posting to Telegram
- Stop forwarding and saving — the option worth knowing about. Subscribers can read your post but cannot forward it or save the media. For a paid channel that is real protection you do not get on any other platform here.
- Hide link preview — stops Telegram showing a preview card under a link in a text post. See the Telegram link guide for why that matters.
- Silent post — publishes without notifying subscribers.
- Pin to the top of the channel — pins the post as soon as it goes out, so it sits above everything else for anyone opening your channel. Telegram allows one pinned post at a time, so this replaces whatever is currently pinned. If the pin fails the post still publishes; you will just need to pin it yourself in Telegram.
- Remove after this many hours — takes the post out of the channel automatically once the time is up, for offers that should not outlive the deadline. The maximum is 48 hours, because Telegram refuses to delete any post older than that — a limit that applies to you in the app as much as to us. Leave it empty to keep the post up. Only the Telegram copy is removed; the post stays in your history here.
- Poll — add two or more answers and the post publishes as a real Telegram poll, with your post text as the question. Up to 12 answers, 100 characters each. You can allow multiple answers, and turn off anonymous voting to see who chose what. A poll is its own kind of Telegram message: it cannot carry media or a link, so any attached media is not sent and your link is left out. Keep polls separate from posts that need a link.
Limits to know
- Photos up to 10 MB, videos and other files up to 50 MB. Larger files cannot be sent and we will tell you before scheduling.
- Captions on a post with media are capped at 1,024 characters. Text-only posts allow more.
- No analytics. Telegram does not report views, reactions or reach to apps at all. Your subscriber count is tracked daily and shown on the dashboard; nothing else is available.
- Posts appear as the channel, not as your bot. If your channel has Sign Messages switched on, the bot name will show — turn it off if you would rather it did not.
